Product Overview

The PCR5080 3Wire network system offers a networking solutions over any existing coax, phone, powerline and CAT5/6 infrastructures with in the home. By using the existing infrastructure, there is no need for any structural changes to set up a suitable network for media-rich Triple play service such as IPTV, VoIP and broadband internet service.

The PCR5080 may be used as an extension to the current Cable/DSL/FTTP connection providing an easy and trouble free distribution of IP video streams from Cable/DSL/FIBER modem to several TV sets and of IP data/voice to every coax, telephone and power outlet in the home with no need to install new wires.

How it Works

The PCR5080 3Wire network system consists of 2 elements: One PCR5080 3Wire Ethernet Adapter acts as the "Gateway" unit and on the other end a PCR5080 Ethernet Adapter "Remote" units are distributed throughout the home (can be connected to TV, phone and/or power outlets).
IPTV streams originated at the Central Office (CO) which reach the home via DSL or FIBER connections. The PCR5080 Ethernet Adapter acting as the "Gateway" is connected to the Cable/DSL/Fiber MODEM via a standard 1000BaseT connection. This "Gateway" Ethernet adapter is connected either to the power outlet, coax and/or telephone outlet. It converts the IP streams to RF signals and transmits them over the homes existing coaxial cable, telephone and electrical power lines.

For IPTV application – a PCR5080 "Remote" Ethernet Adapter can be connected to every TV outlet in the home. It converts the RF signal back to IP format. An IP Set Top Box is connected to the remote unit which converts the IP video streams to a common TV format.

For Data and Voice applications – a PCR5080 "Remote" Ethernet Adapter can be connected to power, telephone, and coax outlet in the home. It converts the RF signal back to IP format. Customer can connect a PC, IP phone or any IP based application to the unit via a standard 100BaseT port. As an option – customer can use the PCR-5080-WL - as a "remote unit" with a built-in 802.11g access point for wireless applications.
The PCR5080 Ethernet Adapters can be placed anywhere on the coaxial TV, telephone, or powerline network and do not interfere with the existing CATV, DOCSIS, DBS, Satellite signals, and other services.

The Auto Sense technology

Tangotec patent pending auto sensing technology is the key point behind the Hybrid 3Wire concept. The PCR5080 unit can be connected to the power, phone, and coax outlets. The auto sensing mechanism automatically selects the infrastructure that provides better performances and chooses the better network.

Built in Wireless LAN - option

For Wireless applications - Instead of connecting an external wireless LAN access point each PCR5080 unit can be ordered with a built in 802.11 n/g access point making it the PCR-5080-WL.

Quality of Service

The PCR5080 3Wire network system provides multi-level QoS besides high bandwidth. No more worry about the applications in LAN which are bandwidth consuming and delay sensitive, you can easily distribute the IPTV multimedia over coax, telephone, and powerline, and access the internet, or use the network for other applications such as multiplayer gaming, audio streaming, VolP communication, security IP camera monitoring and high-speed file transfer at the same time.

Powerful security

The PCR5080 3Wire Network System provides 128-bit AES (Advanced Encryption standard) which keeps information and data transferring private and secure, eliminating any concern of eavesdroppers.
